Greetings from the International Board for Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IBCSOMS)

After a very successful first examination (pass rate of 89%) of the International Board held at Bangalore in October 2016, we are back again. It is very gratifying to note that more than 30 of our surgeons - including Heads of Institutions, Heads of Departments as well as rookie surgeons-, today proudly display their diploma FIBCSOMS to the world as a mark of our effort at finding some common ground for training around the world.

The 2017 edition of the IBCSOMS exams will be held at Bangalore from the 25th-28th of October 2017. We have started the process of inviting applications for the same. You may log into www.ibcsoms.org for further guidance. The Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) has been a well wisher and supporter of the International Board, and has encouraged its members to take part in this process. I am glad to inform you that like last year, this year too, they have promised to provide scholarships to successful members. Details of this will be available shortly. Further details regarding matters of the board and the time table for the Bangalore exams are attached.
